For a cozy A-frame cottage on the eastern shore of the Sakonnet River, Thomas Wheaton designed a new 500+ SF patio composed of manufactured pavers specially coated to resist erosion from salt spray. In contrast to the tiny, older patio it replaced,

 A row of ‘Limelight’ hydrangeas was added to reinforce the existing boundary hedge for enhanced privacy and sound mitigation.

 To add color and interest to the front yard, a new perennial border was created.
       
     
 The new perennial plantings include a mix of prairie species which will offer blooms from spring through early autumn.

 The new front hardscaping features a paver walkway framing an inset area composed of local beach stones.  New plantings include boxwoods which will form a low hedge to frame the new path.
